Mrs. Abha Arora serves as the Operations Coordinator for Office of the Director within the Center for Strategic Scientific Initiatives (CSSI) at the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
In this role, she supports the center in its day to day operational workings, helping it to run both efficiently and effectively. She also supports various scientific programs within the center which include Big Data Scientist Training Enhancement Program (BD-STEP), Knowledge Management and Special Projects Branch (KMSPB), Provocative Questions (PQ), and the Trans-NCI Advisory Committee to CSSI (TACTIC).
Abha holds a Master of Science in Biotechnology- Biodefense and Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Science, Technology and International Security from Johns Hopkins University; and, her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Cognitive Sciences from University of Virginia. Abha joined NCI in 2017 as a Scientific Program Manager at the Knowledge Management and Special Projects Branch. Prior to joining NCI, Abha worked in the private sector in R&D developing immunoassays on research grade platforms and cancer and cardiac genetic panels for Sanger Sequencing and Next-Generation Sequencing platforms in Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certified laboratory setting.
