Juli Klemm, PH.D.

Dr. Juli Klemm is a Program Director in the Center for Strategic Scientific Initiatives at the NCI and directs the NCI Informatics Technology for Cancer Research Program, supporting open source, investigator-initiated informatics technology development. In addition, Dr. Klemm coordinates the trans-NCI Advisory Committee to CSSI (TACTIC) and most recently, has been closely involved in organizing the Serological Sciences Network (SeroNet) in support of NCI’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to joining CSSI, Dr. Klemm was a Branch Chief in the NCI Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology (CBIIT) where she was involved in several NCI informatics programs including the Cancer Research Data Commons and the NCI Cloud Resources..

Dr. Klemm received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Utah and her Ph.D. in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she performed structure-function studies of protein-DNA interactions though x-ray crystallography. She was subsequently a Jane Coffins Childs postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University, studying protein export from the nucleus during T-cell signal transduction.
