Over the years CSSI has successfully initiated offices that have become integral entities of their own within the NCI. Please follow the interactive timeline (See “About CSSI” tab) to learn more of each Office and their programs development.
- The Office of Latin American Cancer Program Development (OLACPD) and the Cancer Research in China program, in partnership with Fogarty International Center of the NIH, evolved from CSSI to form the NCI Center for Global Health in FY10.
- The Office of Biorepositories and Biospecimen Research (OBBR) became a part of the Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis, Cancer Diagnosis Program, now known as the Biorepositories and Biospecimen Research Branch (BBRB) in FY11.
- The Office of Cancer Genomics (OCG) and The Cancer Genome Atlas program office (TCGA-PO) jointly established the Center for Cancer Genomics (CCG) in FY13.
- The Office of Physical Sciences Oncology (OPSO) merged into the current operations of the Division of Cancer Biology (DCB) in FY13.
